Hand-made Bespoke Putters
There are many different definitions as to what constitutes 'hand-made'. We work from the same principles as best London gunmakers.
Starting with a raw billet of steel we use a hand-operated mill to roughly mill the head. Then, using chisels and files, finally shape the head before polishing and buffing. Every putter is unique and made one at a time; we do not use any computer controlled machinery.
We take a lot of pride in being able to offer almost anything; all putters are made bespoke.
If we don’t have the model of putter you want, there is no need to worry as we can make it. Whether you draw it, show us pictures or simply talk us through your needs we can sculpt it from a material of your choice.
All putters done through our ‘Bespoke’ service will need to be quoted. Simply email us with what you have in mind and we can then go from there.
Our ‘Bespoke’ putters will have greater lead times than our other putters due to the more complex nature of them. However we can guarantee the wait will be more than worth it.

Antique Damascus
Damascus is becoming increasingly in vogue within the putter industry. However there is a distinction to be made between modern and antique Damascus.
Damascus in its original form doesn’t exist anymore, much like many processes that either fell out of favour or were replaced by more modern ways, the skill to manufacture it was lost. People have dedicated their lives to rediscovering the old formula and combination of metals and processes to try and revive Damascus, however their efforts have been to no avail. As such the only remaining original Damascus is that in pre-made objects, such as antique shotgun barrels. It is a finite resource and not to be confused with modern Damascus formulas and metals.
Another unique offering from James Ingles Putters is we can offer the use of antique Damascus in our putters. Whether it be inlaid into the face as an insert, inlaid on the flange for appearance, or used as a sight line James Ingles Putters can do it. Providing a truly unique appearance for our customers.
